Tengboche Monastery trekking lies in the midway trekking trial of famous Everest Base Camp trekking. The monastery is situated at the altitude of 3867m on the Khumbu Region of Everest. During this trek, you can reach at the oldest monastery in the kumbu region which was damaged by the earthquake and the fire in 1934 and 1989 which was renovated.

From Tengboche monastery thousands of trekkers passed each year for the Kalapatthar and EBC trekking and most of them pass overnight in this place. Tengboche monastery is also a popular of ancient festival of Sherpa people “Mandi Rimdu Festival”.

Among another big festival of Nepal, Mani Rimdu festival is one of the biggest ceremonies in the Khumbu region. If you visit Tengboche Monastery during the month of October and November you can also participate in this festival which is the special one in Khumbu region. There is a big celebration in Tengboche monastery and the festival date is fixed according to Tibetan Lunar Calendar.  The date is announced by Head Lama of the Tengboche Monastery on the month of MarchApril.

You can visit this place any time of the year but the best time is September to December and March to May.  The trekking up to Tengboche Monastery is semi-hard trek where there are many other trekkers and climbers walking to different other destinations of Everest region. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu:

Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. Welcome by our staff and transfer to your hotel. Pass overnight at the hotel. 1350m

Day 2: Explore Kathmadu Valley:

We will Visit the Kathmandu Valley Visit the world heritage sites of the Kathmandu Valley, that covers Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Temple, and Patan Durbar Square. Overnight in the hotel.


Day 3: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding:

We will take an early morning flight to Lukla or Ramechap depending on the season the flight to Lukla operates from two places Kathamndu and Ramechap which is 4.5 hours drive from Kathmandu. There is a regular flight to Lukla which generally takes 20 minutes. If you take a flight from Kathmandu then a scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu takes us to Lukla which normally takes 35 minutes. Lukla is an entrance point for trekkers and mountaineers that leads to various treks and peak climbing destination in the Khumbu Region. 3/4 hours of the trek and stay overnight in Phakding. 2634m, 3 hours of trekking.


Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar:

We start our trek early in the morning walking slowly till Jor Salle with the view of Mount Thamserku, Dudhkoshi and Thadekoshi river. You can meet other trekkers following the same path or return from different trekking destination. At Jorsalle, we will take our lunch and move ahead and climb steeply till suspension bridge. We continue the same path up to Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar. 3440m (5/6 hours of Trek) 


Day 5: Explore Namche bazaar:

Namche Bazaar is the Sherpa Capital of Khumbu Region. Before entering into Everest trek people passes a day and acclimatize them before moving ahead to Everest. Most of the modern facilities are available in this tiny mountain town. Hike up to Everest View Point on the day to have a fantastic view of Everest, Lhoste, Amadablam, Kongde and other peaks. Hike up to Everest Hotel and return back to Namche Bazar for an overnight stay.6

Day 6: Trek fromNamche Bazaar to Tengboche:

We will start our trek early in the morning. You can able to see the fantastic mountain range and you will meet an old Sherpa who is building a road from Namche to Kyanjuma. Passing through Phungi Thanga and taking a lunch break we will be arriving in Tengboche monastery on a slow rhythm enjoying the views of mountain and forest. Enjoy the view of the sunset from Tengboche Monastery over the mountain range. Overnight in the lodge at Tengboche Monastery. 3860m (4/5 hours:


Day 7: Tengboche monastery to Khumjung village:

Early in the morning we can have a fantastic view of Everest, Amadablam, Cholastse range and we visit colorful Tengboche monastery. We can participate in an afternoon prayer ceremony in Tengboche monastery. After capturing the best moments in your camera we now return back to Lukla passing through Khumjung village which is five to six hours walk from Tengboche monastery. 3800m, 5 hours of trekking.


Day 08:Khumjung village to Phakding:

We explore the khumjung village, the largest Sherpa village of the Everest region. We visit to the ancient monastery to have a view of Yeti scalp which is well preserved in the monastery. Then we descend down the same route passing through Namche, Jorsalle, and finally to Phakding. Six hours of trekking. 2640m.


Day 9:Trek from Phakding to Lukla:

Today we walk through many monasteries, mani walls, and the villages to arrive in Lukla. 5 hours of trek. Overnight in Lukla.


Day 10: Back Flight to Kathmandu:

We take a morning flight as early as possible but sometimes the weather condition in Kathmandu and Lukla do not allow us to take an early flight. There is a chance of flight delay or cancellation of flight in Lukla. We must prepare mentally for this condition.  Our team will try our best to provide you the solution in such cases. Other available conditions are Helicopter or by road.
