Manaslu Trekking is off-the-beaten trekking area in Gorkha region of Nepal. Mount Manaslu is in the Mansiri Himal range, the eighth tallest mountain in the world measuring 8163 meters. Manaslu Himal is located in the west central part of Nepal. Manaslu Himal is regareded as the “mountain of the spirit” having the chains of 13 different peaks altogether in its circuit. You will hear the name of Mount Kutang from Tibetatns which means a flat place on the top.

Manaslu trekking area is less crowded and faraway from the flow of the tourist, This trekking route offers varieties of flora and fauna and the view of different mountain ranges.  You are privileged by the view of different peaks. Some of them are Himalchuli (7,893 m), Ngadi Chuli (7,871 m), Shringi (7,187m), Langpo (6,668 m) and Saula and Ganesh Himal  7422m, and Baudha Himal 6672m with Manaslu Range. Manaslu circuit trek was only opened in 1991 for hikers and trekkers. For Manaslu circuit trekking, you need a special hiking permit  including Tsum Valley. Manaslu trekking route is still used as a business trade route between Nepal and Tibet by local to buy essential  from the Tibet side, a day trek from the Samdo village.

Manaslu circuit Trekking is a two week hike starting from Kathmandu.  You pass along the bank of Budi Gandaki river from Arughat Bazar-610m  o the highest altitude of the Larky at 5106m. You will enjoy the view of paddy fields, waterfalls, mountains, old Tibetan village, suspension bridge glaciers, and moraines. You can start this trek from Gorkha bazaar or the villages of Laprak and Barpark located near the epicenter of 2015 massive earthquake..

Round Manaslu Trekking is divided into two different types of Trek

Manaslu Circuit Trekking in Nepal, which takes 15 days

-Tsum and Nubri Valley Trekking 16 days, a famous Tibetan-Buddhist cultural heritage trek.

In terms of the difficulty, you need a good physical fitness for this trek. The best season to visit this region is from March to May in the spring and from September to December during the winter. Day 1:Arrival in Nepal.

Transfer to hotel by our airport representative. If you arrive on the day time then rest or explore old Kathmandu City.


Day 2: Sight seen and preparation of Special Permit.

Visit of UNESCO World Heritage sites: the ancient royal palace of Kathmandu, the Hindu temples of Durbar Square in Kathmandu, the Buddhist Stupa Swyambhunathi or simply buy the equipment needed for the trek. Meet with your guide who describes you the description of the trek. We need a day to prepare special permit for the Manaslu Circuit Trek on the same day.


Day 3:Drive to Arughat and local jeep to Soti Khola  (800m).

We start our journey from Kathmandu by taking local bus or a jeep. If you are in a group it is possible to take a jeep ride for Arughat bazzar across the Budigandaki river.. From Arughat Bazar, we take another local bus to continue to Soti Khola. Overnight in Soti Khola. (800m) 7 hours of drive.


Day 4: Trek from Soti Khola to Maccha Khola:

On the second day of the hike we begins our trek on the bank of  Budi Gandaki river. You will meet a local population living in different village like Simre to join Maccha Khola. Night in Lodge. 1000m, 6 hours of trek.


Day 5: Trek From Maccha Khola to Jagat via Tatopani:

We start our trek after our breakfast.  From Korlabesi village there is steep ascent and then descent to reach the natural thermal spring known as Tatopani. You have to cross a suspension bridge over Buri Gandaki, the path climbs a stone staircase towards Dobhan and then passes to Duman, Thado Bhanjyang and finally to Jagat. Night in Lodge.6 hours of trek. You will be meeting the people who are now busy in construction of the big road on the bank of Budi Gandaki river. (1400 m, 6 hours of trek)


Day 6: Trek from Jagat to Deng Village:

We continue towards the Tibetan culture ​influenced area with the view of Shringi Himal. We cross Philim village, a large Gurung village of this region, and. then Deng Khola river and continue to walk in the village of Deng. Night in Lodge. (1800 m 6 hours of trek)


Day 7:Trek from Deng to Namrung:

As we trek more,  the views of the mountains clearer and closer to us. We can see Manaslu North of 7774 meters and Manaslu (8150 meters), and Nyak Peak. We may encounter with some blue sheep while walking towards Namrung  village. We walk through small bamboo wood and a pine forest before arriving in Namrung. Night in Lodge. 6.30 hours of walk 2500m.


Day 8: From Namrung to Lho Village:

We climb the oak forest and enter the small village of Lihi, then continue to the village of Sho (2960m) where we see the spectacular view of Manaslu North (7157m) and the Naike peak (5515 m). We will go up to the village of Lho surrounded by many walls of Mani Where there is a oldest Buddhist monastery. Night in Lodge. (3100m 4hours of walk)


Day 9:Lho to Samagaon,

Short hike with beautiful views of the Himalchuli mountains, Peak 29, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. You can walk to the circuit of Pungen Gumba to have a wonderful view of Manaslu Mountain range. Night in Lodge. 4 hours of walk 3540m.


Day 10:Acclimatization day in Samagaon.

Explore Samagaon village and hike around the lake of Birendra Tal (I Formed by the glacier of Mt. Mansalu  or the hard trip of Manaslu Base Camp at the height of 4800m. 8 hours of walk and good acclimatization day. View of the Manaslu range and Ganesh Himal from the height is the memorable journey of this trip. Overnight in lodge..


Day 11: Trek from Samagaon to Samdo Village.

Trek to the village of Samdo which is popular for the Buddhist traditions of Tibetan influenced culture because the border of Tibet is only one day on foot from this village. You can stay overnight here or walk to the Tibetan border for best hike. You might encounter with wild blue sheep.  Night in Lodge. (4h of trek 3800m)


Day 12: Samdo to Dharmasala:

Today, We will arrive in Dharmasala with the close view of the Manaslu range. Dharmasala is a tiny settlement with few lodges with basic facility. We begin to see the close view of North face of Mount Manaslu. The walk is memorable with the close view of different mountain. Upon arrival in Dharmasala you can go for a hike to gain more altitude around the barren mountains. Night in Lodge. (4460 m) 4 hours of walking.


Day 13:Trek from Larkey Phedi to Bimthang via the Larkey-La pass (5106 m) (8 hrs walk).

We start our hike early in the morning with a good breakfast and go up slowly first and then follow a steeper path. There are some seasonal tea house in between the Larkya la pass. At the Larkya La pass we enjoy beautiful views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Gyaji Kang, Kang Guru and Annapurna II. We will then descend long  route through pastures of Bimthang. Night in Lodge.


Day 14: Bhimthang village to Dharapani.

Today we descends further towards the village of Dharpani with the view of Manaslu South Himal, Ratna Chuli, passing down through several villages towards the final destination of Dharapani village that is the traditional route which joins to Annapurna circuit. We stay overnight at the hotel.)  1900m,  7 hours of walking.


Day 15: Dharapani to Kathmandu:

We take a local jeep from Dharapani village to Besisahar takes 3 hours and we finally back to Kathmandu by taking local bus or private vehicle on the same day.


Day 16: Rest day in Kathmandu.

Shopping and explore old part of the Bhaktapur city 15 km away from Kathmandu. Overnight in the Hotel.


Day 17: departure day.

We will leave you at the airport for your departure to the destination of your choice.
