Khopra ridge trek is a community based trekking which can be started from Pokhara driving to small town of Beni which is starting point of this trek. People also start this trek from Galeshower, few kilometer away from Beni.  During Khopra Danda trekking, trekkers stay mostly in the community based home stay and community house where they eat local food; mostly organic production. It is thebestway from which hikers and trekkers communicate with villagers; know their custom, tradition, and lifestyles. The money they spend during Khopra Danda Trekking is utilized for the economic development and benefit of the community in each village.

Khopra Danda and Khayer Lake Trek is the best opportunity for the trekkers to vis-à-vis with the beautiful mountains, passed through beautiful terraced fields, rhododendron forest, and Magar and Gurung villages. This trekking is not overcrowded by the tourists like other famous Annapurna region treks.  The last few days of the trekking trekkers can join the route of Poon Hill Trek from Tadapani village. It is also possible to extend this trek to Annapurna Base Camp for the complete adventure. You can encounter with many yaks and sheep in the Khopra Ridge area.


Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu.

Our airport representative will pick you up from the airport and transferto hotel.  Welcome Dinner in the Nepalese restaurant. Stay overnight in Hotel.


Day 2: Sight seen tour of Kathmandu Valley.

-includes Swaymbhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), and Patan Durbar Square. Stay overnight in Hotel.


Day 3: Take early morning flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara.

After 25 minutes of scenic flight from Kathmandu we arrive to Pokhara. From the airport onward we take a regular jeep drive to small town of Beni or Galeshowor from where we begin our trek. We walk towards the Banskharka village, the Magar settlement of this region. It is surrounded by beautiful  hilly forest which is  also popular for orange production. Overnight at the village of Banskharka. 3 hours of drive and three more hours of trek, 1563m


Day 4: Trek to Nagi village:

From Banskharka village, there is a beautiful view of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri ranges. We start our trek by climbing uphill in the stone stairs to reach the first destination of Dandakateri village. Take a lunch at Dandakateri and the trial flattens when we arrive the beautiful settlement and terrace at the village of Nagi. The village is also popular for the production of handmade paper (Lokta). Enjoy locally made liquor and local food. Overnight stay at community lodge. 6 hrs of walk 2300 m.


Day 5: Trek to Mohare Danda:

Today our destination is Mohare Danda; an isolated place where we have most stunning views of the mountain range from the top of the hill. Mohare Danda have a similar view of the mountain in compared to Poonhill where we can have a wonderful view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu ranges.  Overnight at the community lodge .6 hours of trek and 3350 m.


Day 6: Trek to Swantha Village:

Today we continue our walk to Swantha Village. It is a small village where there are few houses of Magars and Gurung community. We have to descend down through the pine, rhododendron, and cedar forest for few hours and at the end we walk uphill join the village of Swanta. This village has a lovely view of Mount Dhaulagiri. After arriving Swantha, take a tour of the village and its primary school. Overnight stay in a lodge. 6 hrs trek, 2300 m.


Day 7:Trek To Khopra Danda:

Today, we walk in a deep forest for one and half hour and cross a flowing river to reach Chistibung village. To reach Khopra danda, there are two choices either stay in Upper Chistibung to reach Kopra or walk 3.30 hrs more after lunch in Chistibung to reach Kopra. Sometimes you need to pass your night in Chistibung because the only one community lodge in Khopra Danda has limited capacity. To avoid overcrowd in Khopra Community lodge,  you can pass your night in Chisitbung and early in the morning you can start your trek. 6.30 hrs of walking; 3650m.


Day 08: Khopra Danda to Khayer Lake and back to Kopra:

Today we walk towards the height of 4600m, Khayer lake. If you feel energetic in the altitude of 3600m then don’t miss your chance to trek to lake Khayer which is the difficult and prettiest place in this region. It offers the stunning views of Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Nilgiri and Yak grazing fields. Enjoy the day and make it memorable. 9.30 hours of trek with lunch break.


Day 9: Trek to Bayelikharka:

Today,our path descends down through the superb rhododendron and oak forest. Sometimes  the path become very narrow but there are beautiful view of the north part Wonderful forest. Bayelikharka is the wonderful place for the best view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri chain. You have to climb the viewpoint in Bayelikharka, Dobato 30 minutes of climbing to reach the viewpoint station.  6h of walk, 3380 m.


Day 10: Bayelikharka to Ghandruk:

The trial descends down taking the shadowy path of the forest  full of oak and rhododendron and finally joined to the traditional route of Tadapani .Furthermore, the path descends down to the Gurung Village of Ghandruk which is famous for its typical mud and stone roofed houses and the view of Annapurna South and Fishtail.  6.30 hours walk; 1950m.


Day 11: Ghandruk  to Pokhara:

Trek down taking the path of stone paved stairs to the valley of Modi River that leads us to the Nayapul where the trek ends. Drive to Pokhara takes about 1 hour. Overnight at Hotel.


Day 12: Return to Kathmandu.

Fly back/Private Vehicle/or by Tourist Bus to Kathmandu.7 hrs in tourist bus; 25 minutes of flight.


Day 13: Departure day.

We will drop you to the international airport of Kathmandu to fly back to your own destination.
