Humla, Limi valley trek is the magnificent trek in remote district of far western region of Nepal. Humla district offers many adventures trekking and wide varieties of flora and fauna. The region of Humla district is touched with Hilsa to the border of Tibet and it is the ancient Trans Himalayan route between famous Hindu and Buddhist Pilgrimage site Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. The inner part of the Humla Limi valley trek was recently opened for the visitors (in 2002 A.D.).

You will find a different way of lifestyle and this is the one place in Nepal where Tibeaten Buddhism remained unaffected since long time so we will find many Buddhist Monastery of different schools. Morever, on the southern part of the riverbeds of Humla occupied by Hindus (Khasas) and people believed that the Nepali language (khasa Language) was originated in this valley.

Limi valley trekking embraces lot of histories of ancient Hindus, Buddhist and Tibetan culture, glacial lakes, longest river of Nepal Karnali river. Furthermore the splendid view of the mountains like Saipal (7031m), Byas Rishi, Api, Kanjirowa, Kanti, Gorakh, Mt. Kailash in Tibet side, and we can encounter with animals like marmot, wolf, wild yak, blue sheep, wild horse (kyang), barking deer, musk deer, hare, and  snow leopard.

Humla, Limi valley is Trans Himalayan valley which is situated nearby Tibetan border. Limi valley consists of three village Til.(4100 m) Jhang, and Halji and they have strong bond with Tibet and Tibetan culture and Buddhist religion. The trekking route is moderate to strenuous and the highest at pass during the trek are Nar-La and Nyalu La Pass at the elevation of 4940m. Camping and home stay is possible during this exotic trek as there are not lodge or extraordinary tea houses are available here.

To have an extraordinary trekking experience it is better to start your trek beginning from May to November. Limi valley is the best trekking destination during Monsoon period in Nepal because this place falls under rain shadowed area of Nepal. To gain an extraordinary experience and to have an insight in the remoteness of western Nepal Humal, Limi Valley Trek will be your better destination.


Day 1:Arrival in Nepal.

Reception in Kathmandu or Pokhara and Transfer to hotel by our airport representative. If you arrive on the day time then rest or explore old Kathmandu City.


Day 02: Meeting with your guide:

Meet with your guide and and it is a day to obtain special trekking permit and necessary equipment’s and sight seen of Swyambhunath Stupa, a world Heritage site of UNESCO.


Day 3: Guided Sightseen tour:

Guided sighseen tour of ancient medieval city of Bhaktapur and visit Newari town, temples, and royal palace. Lunch at Bhaktapur. Take evening flight of Nepalgunj. Nepalgunj is a town located in Mid- Western Nepal. It is a city close to the Indian Border. Visit some places at Nepalgunj.


Day 4: Flight Nepalgunj-Simikot (2950m- Dharapuri(2300m):

Simikot is a small town administrative headquarter of Humla district, a small town located in far western region and it is also ancient route to the famous pilgrimage, Kailash-Mansarovar. After meeting our crew over there, we start our trek to Dharapuri passing the village of Dandaphoya and finally arrive to the village of DharaPokhari after 4 hrs of trek. Overnight in a tented camp.


Day 5:Trek to SalliKhola (2400m):

We start our trek after breakfast  moving ahead to Salli Khola passing the village of Kermi and visitng Lajkyo Gomba. Kermi village has the majority of Buddhist people. Trek down to SalliKhola after our visit at Kermi village. Overnight at tented camp. 5 hours of trekking.


Day 6: Trek to Muchu (3120m):

After our breakfast we will walk for two hours and cross Salli river with the small settlement and tea shops and again walked through the pine forest. We sometimes rendez-vous with Mule caravans, a transport system in the remote Humla district. As we gain the height, the environment changes and after four hours of trek we will arrive in Muchu passing the village of Yalbung and Yangar. Muchu village has a  famous ancient monastery of more than 500 years old Dhungkar Choezom Monastery of Sakya Lineage. Overnight at tented camp in Muchu village. 6 hours of trek.

Day 7: Trek to Yari (3700 m) or Thado Dunga (3750 m).

Today our trek leads us to the steep climb in the beginning of the day. We can see less and less trees and they are placed by more bushes. Lunch at Palwang village and after three hours of trek we will reach ThadoDhunga or Yari village for camping. 6 hours of trekking. Overnight in a tented camp.


Day 8:Trek to Narala pass 4580m-Hilsa 3720m:

We will continue our trail to Hilsa, border between Nepal and Tibet. Today we will have a long day walk. A steep climbing leads us to Narala pass and then descend down to the village of Hilsa. Camping at Hilsa village.6/7 hours of trekking. Overnight in a tented camp.


Day 9: Trek to Manepema 3990m:

Passing through the check post of Hilsa, we will follow the trial to Limi valley. The Karnali river of Humla enter to Nepal from Tibet. Enjoy the beautiful views of mountains and rough terrain. There is a big stone at Manepema scripted with a famous Buddhist mantra “Om Mane Peme Hum” Stay overnight at tented camp. 5 hours of trekking.


Day 10: Trek to Til Village 4200m:

This will be our daily routine that after breakfast, we start our trek towards Til village. We will pass by a cave which was used by Lotsawa Rinchen Sangpo (985-1055 A.D.), a famous translator of Sanskrit scriptures in Tibetan language. We will then Climb over two rocky ridges and make a short descend to two chortens that marks the end of ridge above Til Chu and barley fields and stone paved village of Tilchu. Culturallry and religiously influenced by Tibetans. Visit Til Gompa and the village. Overnight at the tented camp. 6 hours of walk.

Day 11: Trek to Limi valley (4600m):

Following Takichu river and crossing the wooden bridge over the river and passing the Halji river we finally arrived to Rijziling Gompa which was constructed on 11th century. People of Limi valley depends on the trade between Tibet and Nepal. Pass the Sunkhani village to arrive the Limi.Overnight at the tented camp in Limi valley. 6 hours of trekking

Day 12: Trek to Yang (4400m): Today we will visit the last village of Limi valley known as Yang. It is the farthest village away from modernization. Limi khola trial leads us to Yang village. There is a hot spring at the camp site. Enjoy the bath at hot spring. Overnight in the tented camp. 5 hours of trekking.


Day 13: Exploration day in Yang Village:

Rest and exploration day at the Yang village and surrounding areas.


Day 14: Trek to Talung  (4370m):

An isolated walk will lead us to the village of Talung. There are no settlements in between. Visit Talung lake and a small hotspring and finally arrived to our camping site at Talung. 5/6 hours of walking. Overnight in a tented camp.


Day 15: Talung to Nyalu La and camp at Dhingba 3610m:

Today, our walk will be strenuous walk. We will cross the Nyalu la pass situated at the elevation of (4949 m). The two gorgeous peaks of Nyalu La and Mt Kailash 6638m,  and Mount Saipal 7031m.are visible from the pass. We then descend down steeply to Lake Selma and crossing Sali river finally arrived at tented camp at Dhingba. Overnight at the tented camp.6/7 hours of trekking.


Day 16: Trek to Yakba (3000m) : Easy and short trek to reach the campsite at crossing Yakba Khola.


Day 17: Trek to Simikot 2950m:

We only walk few hours for our last day of the trek, farewell dinner,  drink and dance with staffs. Overnight at the Hotel in Simikot.


Day 18: Fly back to Nepalgunj:

We fly back to Nepalgunj after finishing our beautiful trek. on the same day we take our flight back to  to Kathmandu, free day at Kathmandu.


Day 19: Final day departure to own country.

Our airport representative will drop you at the airport for the destination of your choice.
