Gosainkunda Trekking is an amazing trekking destination on the north east side of the Kathmandu valley which lies at the altitude of 4380m. It is the holy lake trekking which is surrounded by the mountains from all the directions and also has some of the splendid view points and mountain pass.
You can experience the view of the snow capped mountains of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and distance view of the Manaslu from Lauribina. If you are lucky enough then you can encounter with shy red panda on your way to Cholangpati with the splendid view of Langtang Lirung.
Gosainkunda lake is a holy lake for Hindus where devotees take a dip in the freezing water of the lake believing that that washes off their sins. Thousands of Hindus visit this lake during the month of August and May on the occasion of full moon.

Gosainkunda region offers 108 big and small lakes scattered around the region. After passing the lake Gosiankuna, Trekkers cross the Lauribina pass via Surya Kunda at the altitude of 4610m and descend down to Kathmandu valley or Melamchi village. If you are an adventure lover try to climb the Surya Peak 5150m, a trekking peak in Nepal to have a great view of Langtang and Tibet region.

You can either return to Kathmandu via Chisapani hill station or descends down to Melamchi village after Cholangpati pass. While trekking in this region, you will meet different ethnics groups on the mountains mostly Tamang, Moktan, and Dong ethnicity and their culture and tradition.
