Mohare Danda Community Trekking is an easy and alternative eco-trial trekking route for the trekkers in Annapurna and Dhaulagiri region. Mohare Danda Trekking is short trekking of five days which starts from Pokhara and ends at Pokhara city. The starting point of this trek is Beni which is three hours away from Pokhara by the means of transportation and it ends at Nayapul, a place from where the Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts or end.
Mohare Danda Community trek is a route with a wonderful view of mountains from Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Ranges, Tuckuche Peak, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, community village of Pun and Magars, Rhododendron Pine and Cedar forest. Mohare Danda Trekking is a community-based eco trial developed some years back by communities of Parbat and Myagdi district in Dhaulagiri zone. Mohare Danda Trekking is also alternative trekking for popular Punhill trekking filled with a lot of visitors in the season. This trekking provides a similar view of the mountains where tourist flow is less compared to Poonhill Trekking.
A certain percentage of your budget goes to the development of the community and the village development of the entire region. This trekking is also popular for the Rhododendron forest where different colours of Rhododendron blossom during the season from March to May. The highest point of Mohare Danda Trek is 3316 meters above the sea level. Mohare Danda is certainly a beautiful hill point to have a glimpse of sunrise and sunset over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges. This trek is average trekking suitable for the people having sound health and it is the best trekking for the beginners or first-timers.
Mohare Danda Community Trekking Itinerary Details
Day 01: Pokhara-Beni-Banskharka Village- 1520m- 3 hours of drive and 2.30 hours of the trek: We begin our journey early in the morning after breakfast. You will be picked up from the hotel and we drive along the road of Jomsom Muktinath. The route passes through the bank of Modi Khola and Kali Gandaki river until we arrived at the small town of Beni. We take our lunch before Beni and cross the suspension bridge over Kali Gandaki river or we can simply start our trek from Galeshowr crossing Kali Gandaki River and climbing a hilltop passing through several villages and farmland to arrive in a Banskharka Community Lodge.
Day 02: Banskharka to Nagi Village: 6 hours of Trek: 2300m-We can see the sunrise over the Dhaulagiri mountain in the early morning and there are other views of the mountains of Manapathi Himal and Nilgiri mountain range. To go to Nagi village we climb on the top of the viewpoint within a hour walking through the stone stairs made by the village community. There is a nice view of the Dhaulagiri mountain range, Nilgiri, and Annapurna South. From the viewpoint, the trial continues to a beautiful Dandakateri village where we will have lunch. There is a nice view of Nagi village, Annapurna South, and Dhaulagiri ranges. After lunch, we continue our walk to the Nagi village which will take two hours with the view of mountains and unchanged lifestyle of the village, stone slated house, agriculture land, and smiling face of the local people. Overnight at Nagi village in the community lodge.
Day 03: Nagi to Mohare Danda-3316 meters;6 hours of the trek: We wake up early in the morning with a magnificent view of sunrise over the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South Mountain Range. We start our trekking after breakfast. Today we walk through the Rhododendron, Pine, and Cedar forest. During the March, April, May the different colours and scent of Rhododendron flowers make the walk more cheerful. On the first half of the trek, we arrive at Badal Danda a grassland in the top of the hill. This trial is a little bit harder and on the second half, we have our lunch at the small lunch place in the forest between Badal Danda and Mohare Danda. On a clear day, we can see the view of the mountains and hills around us when we pass through the forest. View of the sunset and stay overnight in Mohare Danda.
Day 04: Mohare Danda- Ghorepani- Ulleri Village- 2100m- 6 hours of walking: This is the most important day of our trek. Make your alarm ready to wake up early in the morning to have a wonderful sunrise view over the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Mountain Range just outside your room with a cup of tea or coffee in your hand. Capture each moment in your camera from the height of 3316 meters. View of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Annapurna South, Maccchapucchere, Barahchuli, Manasalu, Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal and Buddha Himal. We move down after to Ghorepani passing through the dense Rhododendron Forest. We will take our breakfast in Ghorepani and descend down our trial to Ulleri village.
Day 05: Ulleri Village to Tikhedhunga and drive back to Pokhara: Today is our last trekking day. We will walk further down to Tikhedhunga village for two and a half hours. From there, we will take a jeep ride to back to Pokhara which furthermore takes two hours approximately. Your trip of Mohare Danda ends here.
