Mardi Himal Trek in Nepal

Mardi Himal trek is a peaceful area in the Annapurna region of Nepal where you can see few numbers of trekkers and meet friendly locals along the way, stays in basic lodges, homestays, and experience a panoramic view of Mountains landscape, high alpines, and fertile valleys of subtropical areas and mountain tea gardens. The way to Mardi Himal is an easy path passed inside the lush green forest for almost two days and while returning back from this place you can gain an opportunity of homestay in Siddhing village now popular for organic tea garden, mountain views, Gurung culture, and local organic food.

Mardi Himal Trek is suitable for all age of people and also for the beginners who are seeking for the easy and short day trekking destination. The mountain views from Mardi Himal are superb including Annapurna South, Mount Machhapuchhre (also known as Fishtail) and Mount Hiunchuli.

The best season for Mardi Himal treks are February, March, April, and May and after when the monsoon ends in Nepal from the last of September, October, November, and December.

Mardi Himal Trekking in Nepal Itineary Details

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu. Welcome by our airport representatives and transfer to Hotel. (1350 m)

Day 02: Sightseeing at World Heritage sites in Kathmandu and Patan famous for ancient Malla King Palaces, Temples, and Stupas.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara in a tourist bus or (an option of Flight). It takes 7 hours to reach Pokhara passing one of the busiest road in Nepal, Prithvi Highway. Enjoy the view of Trisuli and Marshyangdi river. Transfer to Hotel. (800 m)

Day 04: Pokhara to Kande- Austrakian Camp- 1950m- 2.30h of trekking- Visit Pokhara Valley. The main attractions are hiking to World Peace Stupa crossing Fewa Lake for the good view of Valley along with ranges of Annapurna. After 1 p.m. drives to Kande starting point of our trek walk for 2.30h to reach Australian Camp. (2060 m)

Day 05: Trek from Australian Camp to Forest Camp. 2600m 6h of trek: Walk through the shadowy forest for six hours approximate to reach our first camp for today known as Forest Camp. During our walk, we can see Annapurna South and Mount Fish Tail which hides from us sometimes and surprisingly it is in front of us.. Forest camp is a small settlement with few basic lodges surrounded by Forest.

Day 05: Trek from Forest Camp to Low Camp.3100m- 5 hours of trekking: Our trek continues today with sub-alpine forest. The more we climb up, the views of mountain become more clear. It would be a pleasant walk in the forest and there are some chances to encounter birds and animals. Reach early in the forest Camp for Lunch. Stay in Forest Camp and enjoy the peaceful environment and relax.

Day 06: Trek from Low Camp to High Camp. (3600 m): 4 hours of trekking: After walking through the forest in two hours the vegetation began to disappear and now we can see the clear view of Annapurna South. Continue our uphill walk and see the stunning views of Pokhara valley and faraway mountains during the clear days.The more we walk we feel that the view of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli become very clearer. Encounter with grazing buffalo in high altitude grassland. Lunch in High Camp and visit surrounding areas of High Camp.

Day 07: High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp-High Camp. (4200 m) Today will be our hard day to reach Mardi Himal Base Camp. It will take 6 hrs to go to Base Camp and return back from there. We have to take packed food for our lunch. The stunning mountain views of Annapurna Ranges, Nilgiri, Dhampus peak welcome us and we can encounter with Yaks during our trek. Overnight in HighCamp.

Day 08: High Camp to Sidding (1800 m) Long descend down to Siddhing Village passing through Low Camp. From Low Camp, the way changes and we continue our walk down to the Siddhing Village. Overnight in Siddhing Village.

Day 09: Siddhing to Lwang Ghalel (1600 m) Today we descend down furthermore for 1 hour and climbs up passing through different villages with rice terrace fields and re-climb up to reach the Lwang Village. Lwang is a gurung village now famous for the production of organic tea. This lovely village offers community home stay. Stay overnight with them, roam in mountain tea garden. Do not forget to take the organic tea leaves as a souvenir of Pokhara. Overnight in Lwang village in a home stay.

Day 10: Descend down to the lovely fertile valley of Lwang and take a jeep ride to  to Pokhara takes 2 hours. Rest day in Pokhara. (800 m). Shopping day..

Day 11: Return back to Kathmandu (Flight or Tourist Bus).

Day 12: Departure to International Airport leaving for own country.
