Lumbini Cultural Tour

Long Walk Adventures presents a religious and cultural tour for the peace and tranquility lovers and also for those wants to visit birth place of the Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama), a place located in the Southern Nepal, near the Indian border and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997.

Lumbini is the birth place of of Shakyamuni Buddha. According to Buddhist tradition, Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama who achieved enlightenment and became Gautama Buddha and founded Buddhism. Lord Buddha was born in 623 BC in the sacred area of Lumbini located in the Terai plains of southern Nepal which was testified by the inscription on the pillar erected by the Mauryan Emperor Asoka in 249 BC.

There are excavated remains of Buddhist viharas (monasteries) of the 3rd century BC to the 5th century AD and the remains of Buddhist stupas from the 3rd century BC to the 15th century AD in different part of Lumbini. This cultural tour is combined with other cultural tour and short distance trek of Kathmandu Valley, and Pokhara.

Itinerary Details of Lumbini Cultural Tour

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m) You will be received by our representatives and will be transferred to hotel. After checking into our rooms, stay Overnight in hotel Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu’s world Heritage sightseeing tour. Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour of Kathmandu: Swayambu Nath Stupa (Famous Monkey Temple), Lalitpur,  Pashupatinath and and Bouddhanath Stupa .

Day 03: Kathmandu –Bhaktapur-NamoBuddha. (1600m) After taking a nutritious breakfast, we travel overland from Kathmandu to Bhaktapur, a medieval ancient city of Newar enlisted in world Heritage site. After sightseeing and lunch, leave for Namobuddha Bhangyang and a easy trek of 6 km to reach NamoBuddha Monastry. The mountain view during this trek is incredible during clear days and you can also enjoy village walk and know the lifestyle of villagers. Visit NamoBuddha Monastery, stay overnight either in Monastery or Namobuddha’s resort and hotel. Participate in early morning prayers in the monastery and after breakfast easy walk to Panauti, ancient hometown of Newar and return to Kathmandu.

Day 04: Kathmandu to Lumbini After breakfast, we will continue our overland tour either from tourist bus or private vehicle passing thorugh Prithivi Highway, one of the busiest highway of Nepal passing through breathtaking view of mountains, rivers, and descend to Terai plain. It is about 300 km from Kathmandu and takes a day to reach there. The birthplace of Lord Buddha, it is one of the most compelling places to visit in Nepal. Considered as the place of holy pilgrimage, Lumbini falls in the list of World Heritage Sites recognized by UNESCO.  Check-in the hotel and then we go walking through the Sacred Lumbini Garden and its surroudnding. Ashoka pillar, Maya Devi temple and bathing pond are the remarkable places to visit in Lumbini. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 05: Around Lumbini Sightseeing Tour. We start our trip after breakfast for the trip by driving away, 27km west of Lumbini to visit the important archaeological site which and Tilaurkot and other important sites. There is a museum and where there are important archeological findings kept in a safe way that described the life history and ancient civilization of Siddhartha Gautam’s (Buddha) era.

Day 06: Lumbini to Pokhara After early morning breakfast, we will now leave to the famous tourist town of Pokhara which is around 210 kilometers passing through Siddhartha Highway. It takes around 6/7 hours to reach Pokhara. After check-in, we will visit the Lake Side market and famous temple in the middle of the famous lake Phewa in Pokhara. Take a walking tour in Pokhara and enjoy the sunset with the famous mountains of Annapurna, Fishtail, and Dhaulagiri range.

Day 07: Pokhara city sightseeing We will begin our sightseeing journey in Pokhara at your desirable time. We will visit today famous peace pagoda from stunning views of Annapurna range, Phewa Lake, and Pokhara valley awaits you. Feel the cool breeze of the natural air and forget yourself in the mountains. You can also participate in the activity like paragliding, ultra light flight, and zipline if you are a true adventure seeker. Make your journey memorable from all these activities.  Visit Mountain Museum and get the knowledge of Nepalese mountain and mountaineers around the world.

Day 08: Back to Kathmandu Return back to Kathmandu by tourist bus or flight.  Take a round trip of famous Thamel Market and buy some souvenirs or visit Kumari Temple in Kathmandu Durbar Square.  Participate in farewell dinner organized by our office.

Day 09: Final Departure Day: After your trip, our staff will drop you in the international airport.
