Kanchenjunga Trek- An incredible trek in eastern Nepal
Kanchenjunga base camp trekking, third highest mountain in the world; certainly gives you the thrilling and marvelous experience of true visit in Nepal, particularly all of the three regions Mountains, Hills, and Terai Plains. Kanchenjunga trek is the best, if you want to have the most rewarding journey of your lifetime that certainly gives rejuvenating moments. Trekking in Kanchenjunga will never let you down. This place is considered as a camping trek. Now the scenario has been changed since last three years.
Kanchenjunga trekking now offers tea house trek with a basic lodge facility. Food menus are simple which includes Dal Bhat, Macaroni, Potatoes or Noodles Soup, Tea of Ilam. It is of course not the five star menus or the menu like Everest or Annapurna Base Camp Trek or Round Annapurna. A simplified menu which definitely satisfy your needs; gives full energy for the entire trek, and overall you will find the delightful taste of Eastern Himalayas.
Kanchenjunga, An area less populated by the visitors. People want to come back here again because of its diversified natural beauty. A delicious aroma of the nature and overwhelming beauty of Kanchenjunga will never be comparable with other mountains.
A special permission from the Government of Nepal is required to visit this place. Certified guides are compulsory and overall you need to carry some fast foods and bars. Far away from modern civilization; in most of the places the mobile network does not work and Kanchenjunga region is fully ancient and without technology life. The hotels are basic tea house lodge that you need to carry sleeping bags and down jackets and you will have to stay in common room. Menu is expensive but it worth it and rooms are just okay as it lies in a remote part.
Kanchenjunga trekking starts from Taplejung passed through several villages like Serkathum renowned for cardamom production, and then followed the river of Tamor up to Amjilasa, Tibetan village of Gyapla, beautiful villages of Phalegaun, and finally arrived to Ghunsa. Views of the mountains are quite near and clear. From Ghunsa to Khangpachen along with mesmerizing view of Jannu (khumbhakarna Himal) and then to high altitude of Lhonak Glacier 4780m. An overnight stay in Lhonak and then Pangpema (North Base camp 5145m) cross Sele la, Tama la, and Miring La adds another marvelous memory. Walk with the views of Kabrus, Rathong, Kokthang, Khang La, and crossing the famous Yalung Glacier slowly descends down to the villages of Tseram, Tortong, Khesawa and finally to the Taplejung and finally, back to Kathmandu.
