Annapurna Circuit trek, which circled around the Annapurna massive, is roughly about 170 to 200 km normally takes 13 days to 21 days depending upon the trekker’s choice. A trekker encircled this trial passing through different climate zone along its way and cross highest Pass, a trans-Himalayan route between Manang and Mustang district known as Thorang-la, situated at 5416m above the sea level.

Nowadays, attraction of the Annapurna circuit and trekking days are decreasing gradually because of the road that extended from both side of Manang, along the trial of Marsyangdi River; on the other side along the Kali Gandaki gorge up the western end to Muktinath. The concept of alternative root had been developed right after the completion of road trial in Kaligandaki valley section. However, it took a long time to complete the extraordinary project. Ecotourism and home stay models have been developed together by Nepal Tourism Board and ACAP and also a new route had already been discovered that passes through the urban and untouched villages which are not so far away from the main route.

From Pisang, take a route to Upper Pisang Village and then pass the route of Ghyaru and Nwal village. Stay in the Nwal village for acclimatization and then reach to Manang another day. Rest a day in Manang exploring a view point near Gangapurna Glacier, trek to Iced Lake or Milarepa Cave and furthermore continue the same traditional route of Khangsar, Lower Basecamp, Uppercamp, Thorang-la and Muktinath in seven to nine days. However, it is not recommended all the trekkers and travellers to complete this route in rush as there is chances of high altitude sickness.

Alternative route B, Round Annapurna Circuit:

Another alternative root for round Annapurna trek will be starting from Besisahar where travelers can now enjoy new destination in Khanigaun of Lamjung district known as Rock Garden. The trekking trail then follows the villages of Khudi,Sirung, and finally joined to Chapra and Mipra village and which leads us to the road tracks in Syange. From Syange, the trial then follows to traditional route of Jagat, Chaymche, Taal, and finally to Dharapani village. Now the new village destination is added such as Oodhar,Bagarchap, Danaque, Timang, Thanchowk, Kotegaun and finally to Chame. From Chame, follow the traditional route to reach Manang and follow the same route up to Muktinath/Jomsom. The map for this route has not yet been finalized but the main tasks such as campsites finalization, signboard installation, and GPS locations were already identified.
